Small ceramic figure of a hedgehog. The face, under-body and legs are pink, and the main body is covered with brown, black, white and yellow spiky protrusions. The eyes and nose are black, and the cheeks a darker pink than the face.

    Since the 19th century, pottery toys from Barcelos have become ubiquitous throughout Portugal. Today they are more elaborate than the whistles and figures first written about by travellers more than a century ago.
