Pair of metal binoculars. Eye piece assembly is made of brass, with a black patina. Below it at centre sits a rigged focussing knob. The barrels are covered in a hard black leather and flare slightly toward the objective lenses, which are lined with moveable tin tubes that have a pattern of incised, encircling lines.

Narrative
From the collection of the missionary Thomas Crosby, who worked in various places on the Northwest Coast of B.C. from 1863 to 1907. Possibly from the S.S. Glad Tidings, a Methodist mission vessel launched in 1884 by Thomas Crosby. It sailed from Victoria up the B.C. coast to Port Simpson from 1884 until 1903, when it sank.
