Square photographic lantern slide made of two pieces of glass, one with the photo printed on it, the other clear, held together by a ‘frame’ of black paper tape. The image is in shades of light brown, and shows 8 evenly spaced, comical line drawings of a horse pulling a small racing buggy, in a variety of running poses. The slide manufacturer’s label is on the bottom centre, in the same colour and style. Inscription in image: "'The Horse in Motion', Automatic-Electro Photography by / Muybridge."; on the frame is written: "the Wasp’s Horse".
