Shoes

3052/32 a-b

Pair of shoes (part of a man’s costume with 3052/25-31). The shoes are light and close fitting, pointed toes curling up, with two straps across the top that are secured with silver buckles at the outside. Straps have three sets of four silver rivets bored through them in diamond shapes. On front top of shoe is a small decorative strip of leather with three holes cut out of it to show a different colour underneath. Part ‘a’ has a brown strip with white underpiece. Part ‘b’ has a light brown strip with dark brown showing through. Both shoes are constructed of leather in a light tan. Shoe ‘b’s surface is partially covered with small, circular motifs and dotted lines burned into the leather. Shoe ‘a’ has no such decoration, but is otherwise similar in construction. The shoe base is a continuation of the upper, with no added sole.
