Square stoneware box in the shape of a small milk carton. Black lines on the lid form a mountain relief and a single band of water. Faint impressions of chickens and a cow grazing, on one side. The words "sea" and "span" are pressed into either side of the box; one on brown glaze, the other on blue. A number "44" is pressed into the brown part of the "sea" side. One of the remaining sides has a crane next to a mountain. An "S" and the number "440" are pressed into the last side. Maker's mark stamped onto "span" side.
