Small polychrome cup with rounded base, everted sides and geometrical designs. Bands with stepped motif near rim. Middle has a band with six vertical designs, with three spirals on both sides representing waves. Below is a band of horizontal lines; white and black quartered base. White, black, grey, red-brown, orange-brown and cream paint. Molded manufacture; polished surface.

Narrative
Rosita Tovell's father was a collector of Peruvian pre-Columbian ceramics. Rosita moved to Peru in the early 1960s, while her husband served as ambassador to Peru and Bolivia. During this time Rosita began to study and collect pre-Columbian Peruvian ceramics and textiles.
