Byzantine coin of Justinian I, 527-565. Obverse: Justinian I, enthroned, with diadem; to left, he holds a sceptre; to right, he holds a globus cruciger; to left, inscription says ‘DNIVSTINI’; to right, ‘AV’. Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, a star; to right, a crescent facing outwards; above, a cross; in exergue, inscription is illegible, but most likely [+THEϤP].
