Wool poncho. Woven garment consists of two separate but identical pieces sewn together at midpoint (shoulders) where it is folded in half, and has a hole at centre through which fits the wearer's head. Weave is tight and un-patterned, with decoration consisting of series of horizontal lines in red, yellow, green, purple and light tan in varying widths, as well as thick short fringe in the same colours around the edges.

Narrative
This collection (3133/1-35) was brought to Vancouver by the donor's father's family, when they moved here from Bolivia in the 1940s.
