Hair Tie Ornament

Large hair tie piece with pompoms. Made up of 9 strands consisting of a tightly woven round cord at top, then a thick pompom of fine thread, two or three wide, flat cords, and ending in another pompom. A single round cord topped by a loop and pompom holds the nine strands. Each cord is multiple colours; pompoms are primarily dark pink or dark red, accented with one or more shades of green, purple, blue or orange.

This collection (3133/1-35) was brought to Vancouver by the donor's father's family, when they moved here from Bolivia in the 1940s.
