Byzantine coin of Constans II, 641-668. Obverse: bust of Constans II, facing forwards, with long beard; to right, ‘M’ with cross above; beneath, there is a circular punch, which is approximately 1cm in diameter; within the circular punch, there is a monogram. Reverse: three standing figures, all wearing a chlamys and holding a globus cruciger in their right hands; these are all sons of Constans II, namely Constantine IV, Heraclius, and Tiberius. Monogram on obverse corresponds to number 35 in Sear catalogue. This coin is an example of a coin being countermarked.
