His hand is clenched in a fist and has a hole in the centre, indicating it may have once held an object. Left arm is bent and hand rests at his hip. He is wearing a black robe with gold trim and a black hat with a red stripe. There is a rectangular cut out in the figure's back. Chinese characters are painted in black on the front of the stand.
