Byzantine coin of Manuel I, 1143-1180. Obverse: bust of Christ, facing front; he has a nimbus cruciger around his head, which is a cross within a halo; to left, he raises his hand in benediction; to right, he holds a scroll; to right, inscription says ‘XC’. Reverse: Manuel I, standing and facing front; he wears military clothing; to left, he holds a cruciform sceptre; to right, he holds a globus cruciger; to left, inscription says ‘NɤHΛ’; to right, ‘EC’.
