Byzantine coin of Manuel I, 1143-1180. Obverse: monogram, which looks like a large cross with small letters at each of the four ends of the cross; these include ‘M, Δ, Λ, K’. Reverse: bust of Manuel I, facing front; he wears a loros, an embroidered and jewelled scarf; to left, he holds a labarum, a military standard. Monogram on the obverse corresponds to monogram 57 in the Sear catalogue.
