Byzantine coin of Andronicus I, 1183-1185. Obverse: the Virgin Mary, standing and facing front; she has a halo; to right, inscription says ‘ΘV’. Reverse: two figures, standing and facing front; to left, Andronicus I; to right, Christ, who has a halo; Christ raises his right hand above Andronicus I’s head in order to crown him; to right, inscriptions says ‘XC’; beneath that, it says ‘Δ…CA’.
