Byzantine coin of Andronicus II, 1282-1328. Obverse: two figures, standing and facing front; to left, Andronicus II; to right, Michael IX, his son and co-emperor; between them, they hold a labarum, which is a military standard; to left, inscription says ‘IN’; to right, ‘M’. Reverse: cross, with pellets in each of its four quadrants; it is surrounded by a circular inscription, which says ‘ΔPONIK…DECΠOT’.
