Byzantine coin from the 12th to 13th centuries CE. Obverse: bust of the Virgin Mary, facing front; she has a halo; she raises both of her hands to the upper right corner, where there is a ‘manus dei’, which is a representation of the hands of God; to left, inscription says ‘MPHΛΠ’; to right, ‘ΘVPIT’. Reverse: two figures, standing and facing front; each has a halo, meaning that they are both most likely saints; above, inscription says ‘ΓICTE’. Coin is concave.
