Obverse: bust of Anastasius II, facing front; he wears a crown; to left, he holds a globus cruciger; in front of him, he holds an akakia (a silk roll containing dust which symbolizes mortality); to right, cross. Reverse: large ‘K’; to left, ‘ANN[O]’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘II’; above, cross; beneath, ‘A’.
