Wooden carving of a pig. Its head is carved in a wedge shape with a defined angle running down the centre of its face. It has a small cirular eye and a string of triangles carved along the jaw line up to its ears on either side of its face. the ttorso is rounded with short legs. Along its spine is a pattern of "u" shaped marking bordered by lines on both sides. Along the sides of its torso, the pig has a similar pattern of "u" shapes carved between two lines, in the centre of which there is a sideways "hourglass" shaped marking. The carved areas show traces of white lime.

  From the collection of Sister Twyford or Miss J. Pearce (Australia), who had served as missionaries in the Trobriand Islands in the 1920s and Dobu Island in the 1930s.
