Dish shaped basket with a rounded base, wide sloping wall and braided rim. Dark brown designs decorate both exterior and interior, with four colour blocks emanating off a ring at centre, and surrounded by geometric line designs and colour blocks from the rim.

Narrative
Given to the donor by the late Dr. Murray Newman, and said to have belonged to his grandparents. His grandfather, Benjamin Tupper Newman (from Maine), had traveled around the American west in the 1920s and had an interest in Native American cultures.
