Corn husk face mask. Twined fibre coiled and stitched together into a face with bulging eyes, long nose, and puckered mouth with tongue extended. The face is bordered by long strands of corn husk fibres forming a mane.

  • Narrative

    The mask had an Iroqrafts tag on it, as well a tag that says "Gajesa = 'husk-woven' (Corn Husk Face)", and tells the story of the 'Husk Faces'. Purchased by the donor from the Glenbow Museum gift shop in Calgary. Supplied to the gift shop by 'Iroqrafts' (Iroquois Crafts & Arts store on the Six Nations Reserve).
