Two part dress. Long dress (part a) and an underskirt (part b) with an open weave or lace fringe in pale teal at the bottom. The skirt is bell-shaped with an elastic waist. The embroidery includes images of pyramids, birds and people. The scene is tropical, lush, floral and verdant.

Iconographic Meaning
The design is an idealised representation of pre-Hispanic Mesoamerica. There are pyramids and exotic birds that are now endangered but whose feathers were considered precious by ancient Mesoamerican societies.
