Headdress

MOA: University of British Columbia

3326/12

Headdress carved from a single piece of wood. The wood has been stained black, with the carved areas revealing a light brown. The base is dome-shaped, and is carved with rows of zigzags around the exterior. A high arched crest extends from the top, slightly extending beyond the dome, with a cutout upside-down V-shape, leaving a triangle underneath. The crest is decorated with carved geometric designs: repeating V's, lines, triangles, crosshatching and X's.
