Square ceramic tile painted white with dark blue designs overtop. Surface and sides are glazed. Each corner of tile has a large triangular, meander-like design. Dotted lines border corner designs. Plain line border around entire tile. Central design of flower with curvilinear motifs around it. Bottom edge has a horizontal line through middle. Five horizontal ridges on back of tile. Manufacturer’s mark, Minton China Works, stamped in between ridges. Inscription on back.

Specific Techniques
Tile was manufactured by dust-pressing, a technique that uses clay milled to a fine powder with low moisture content, which is then pressed in a die at high pressure.
