Petals of each flower span entire tile edge, connecting at the corners, forming a border. Space between flowers forms an “X” shape. In the arms of the “X” are small flowers inside circles, surrounded by dots. The circles are connected to the large flowers with curved lines. Small circle and large circular outline imprinted on back of tile.

Specific Techniques
Tile was manufactured by dust-pressing, a technique that uses clay milled to a fine powder with low moisture content, then pressed in a die at high pressure. The design was created from a relief in die, creating the raised edges and depressions. Glaze was allowed to pool in the embossing creating the shade variation.
