Ankle Rattle

Semi-circular ankle dance rattle made of a braided plant fibre band; secures at the back with a tie. Strands of large, hollow and triangular shaped seeds, with rounded sides, are attached in rows across the entire length. Each strand in the top two rows have two seeds strung through them; three seeds on strands in bottom row.

    The donor taught in a rural school in Tobli, eastern Liberia, from 1965 to 1967.
