Necklace

MOA: University of British Columbia

3615/2

Beaded necklace made of circular beige and red-brown seeds; strung on plastic string. Each seed has a small hole pierced through one side and a larger opening on the other. Bead orientation alternates, so that same sized holes are always touching along the strand.

According to the donor, the seed necklaces and boomerangs (3615/1-8) were collected in the 1970s-80s in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, in the areas of Halls Creek, Looma Broome and Derby.
