Pin cushion

MOA: University of British Columbia

3660/43

Small beaded clamshell-shaped pin cushion that opens like a clamshell. The top of the cushion has heavy beadwork in a geometric motif of three circular shapes connected by two lines in clear beads with three black tubular beads at the centre of each circle, close to the scalloped edge. The words 'FROM NIAGARA FALLS' are beaded in amber-coloured beads above. The bottom is heavily embroidered with clear, amber, pink and yellow beads in a floral motif. The top flap opens up to a natural woven fabric cushion. The beadwork is on a dark blue wool(?) background, which is edged with light brown fabric and clear beads.
