Byzantine coin of Justin II, 565-578. Obverse: Justin II, on left, and Sophia, on right, both enthroned; between them, they hold a globe with a large cross above it; each also holds a long sceptre; both rulers have haloes; inscriptions are blundered and illegible. Reverse: large ‘I’; to the left, ‘[A]NN[O]’ in a vertical position; to the right, ‘IIII’ in a vertical position; above, cross; exergue is illegible, but most likely ‘THEUP’.
