Byzantine coin of Heraclius, 610-641. Obverse: two rulers standing and facing front; Heraclius is on the left; Heraclius Constantine, his son, is on the right; each wears a crown with cross and holds a globus cruciger in their right hand; between their heads, there is a cross; to left, inscription says ‘PERPAVC’; to right, it is illegible; beneath, it says ‘FOCAS’, followed by a cross, both of which are upside down. Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, ‘[A]NNO’ in a vertical position; to right, ‘…II’; above, ‘C’; beneath, ‘Δ’; in exergue, ‘CO[N]’; to lower right, ‘CONB’. Coin has been overstruck, resulting in some confusion on both sides. The inscription on the obverse belongs to the previous emperor, Phocas, while the ‘CONB’ on the reverse is also from a previous coin.
