Byzantine coin of Leo IV, 775-780. Obverse: bust of Leo IV, to left, and bust of Constantine VI, to right, both facing front; each wears a chlamys and a crown with cross; between their heads, cross; between their shoulders, pellet. Reverse: large ‘M’; to left, ‘X’; to right, ‘N’; beneath, ‘A’; above, two busts resting on a horizontal line; these are Leo III, to left, and Constantine V, to right; each wears a loros, an embroidered and jewelled scarf; between their heads, cross; to left of the busts, ‘B’; to right of the busts, ‘A’.
