Byzantine coin of Michael VIII, 1258-1282. Obverse: bust of the Virgin Mary, facing front; she has a halo; she raises her hands in prayer. Reverse: Michael III, enthroned; he has a sword across his knees; to left, inscription says ‘XX’. Coin is slightly concave.
