Byzantine coin of Andronicus II, 1282-1328. Obverse: large cross, with ‘X’ at the centre; there is a ‘B’ in each quadrant of the cross. Reverse: two figures, standing and facing front; to left, Andronicus II; to right, Michael IX, his son and co-emperor; to left, inscription is difficult to decipher, but most likely says ‘CIHIAIU’; to right, it is illegible. Coin is slightly concave.
