Byzantine coin of Constantine VI and Irene, 780-797. Obverse: bust of Irene, facing front; she wears a crown and a loros, which is an embroidered and jewelled scarf; to left, she holds a globus cruciger; to right, she holds a cruciform sceptre. Reverse: large ‘M’; above, bust of Constantine VI; he wears a crown and a chlamys; to left, he holds a globus cruciger; to left of ‘M’, there is an ‘X’; beneath ‘M’, there is an ‘A’.
