Dark purple silk jacket. Garment is long in the body, with long, wide sleeves, and closes on the right side and horizontally across the front of the shoulder, creating a small neck. Fabric is a dark purple silk with heavy applique on the shoulders, chest and torso where birds and peony flowers are embroidered in white, purple green and black on a blue background. Outlining this are strips of gold, and a ribbon of smaller flowers in bright pink and butterflies in green, interspersed with light green fretwork. Sleeves are similarly outlined along the cuffs, as is the back of the neck. Sides at bottom are edged in blue silk with green fretwork. Buttons along the open edge are brass.
