Obverse: two busts, facing front; to left, Michael II, wearing a chlamys; to right, Theophilus, wearing a loros; each wears a crown with cross; to left, inscription says ‘MIXA’; above, ‘HL’; to right, it is illegible. Reverse: large ‘M’; above, cross; beneath, ‘Θ’.
