Ceramic tile, square. On a light grey background, tile has an image in maroon of a biblical scene showing the beheading of John the Baptist. A man with a sword at his side places the head on a platter held out by Herodias. Between the two is the prone body. The scene takes place in a room with a tiled floor, high central window, and doorways to each side. Image is surrounded by a circular border, and ox-head motifs decorate the corners of the tile. Top surface is glazed and shiny with some shallow cracks in the glaze; sides and bottom are undecorated.
